In the aftermath following the disaster that was Johnny Manziel’s first start...
Bob Evans, Co-Founder, Site Director and Editor-in-Chief
Bob began his sports writing career back in 2005 as a staff writer and sports editor for the Lorain County Community College Collegian Newspaper. This experience propelled him to change majors to the Journalism field, in which he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from Cleveland State University before completing his Master’s of Education Degree in Sport Management from Cleveland State.
Since receiving this degree, Bob has gone on to write for a number of websites, getting his first start at Bleacher Report. After climbing the ranks from contributor, Bob became a Cleveland Cavaliers Featured Columnist. His work was so well-respected there that he was asked to join the National NBA writing staff with B/R. After B/R, he joined up with a number of well-respected writers to form and grow National Football Authority. Quickly becoming a force in the football community, NFA’s work was picked up by ESPN team pages as a true “authority” on football. Bob’s own work was recognized around the country, as he was featured on numerous ESPN radio shows as a call-in guest.
Through these experiences his work has been featured on ESPN, CBS Sports, USA Today, Rivals.com, Scout.com, Cleveland.com and many more websites. He has also been a featured guest on many radio shows, including being a draft day consultant for AM 1480 in Canton, Ohio in 2012. Bob is also a credentialed media member for Cleveland State University Athletics.
Buckeye State Sports is the second site Bob has been an initial founder of, as he created Wine and Gold Report—a Cleveland Cavaliers news source—back in December of 2011. His hope is for Buckeye State Sports to become one of the top places for Ohio sports fans to turn to for news about their favorite team.
