Evan brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and passion for sports to Buckeye State Sports. He is the founder and chief researcher of Sports Vault, a sports research company that began in 1993. Its goal is to augment and enhance in-house research and statistical capabilities.
Over the years, Sports Vault research has been used by many professional and collegiate teams including: the Cleveland Indians, Florida Marlins, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers and Cleveland State University Men’s Basketball.
Evan began his writing career in 1993 when he covered the International Hockey League and the Cleveland Lumberjacks for Fischler Hockey Service. Since then he has covered professional hockey (the American Hockey League’s Cleveland Barons and Lake Erie Monsters).
Evan’s professional baseball background includes covering the Akron Aeros & Lake Erie Crushers the past four years. He also has experience in college football, covering the Case Western Reserve Spartans and the Mid-American Conference, and College Basketball (Cleveland State & the Mid-American Conference) for various web sites.
Evan has been a long time member of the Society of American Baseball research (SABR) serving of the Ballparks, Statistical Analysis, and Baseball Records Committee and the Society of International Hockey Research (SIHR) spending time of the statistics committee.
